WHAT'S FLYIN' THIS WAY !!!
Our meeting this coming Thursday, November 10th, looks to be very exciting. Bill Fox of Waterloo, who was a Lockheed engineer intimately involved with the design and testing of what ultimately became the SR-71, will be our guest speaker. Bill will have a short video and slide presentation revealing some of the recently declassified secrets of the fastest airplane ever built. We will be meeting at the Fisher Community Center, Room A, at 7 pm. Garry will be placing a notice in the T-R inviting the public, and we invite all other EAA'ers from around Iowa who are interested.

WHAT FLEW BY !!!
No one can say we don't have flying on our brains in this chapter! The hour or so before our last meeting saw 8 member airplanes flying around the patch. It WAS a great afternoon weatherwise, and the decision to have our October meeting at the airport was evidently an excellent one. The crowd had gathered at Gary and Chad Nablo's hangar to watch the airplanes fly by. Even Gary with his L4 Pup, and Chad's Minimax were putting air under the wings. Also, Gary invited a friend (sorry, I didn't get the name) with a high performance RC helicopter who put on a dazzling display just as dusk fell on the airport.
The meeting started with approximately 20 members and a few guests present. Three Aerospace Engineering students from ISU, Mark Ketcham, Isaiah Warnke, and Garrett Homan attended and ultimately gave an impromtu program on an ambitious project they are involved in. They are collectively designing and building a next-generation light sport aircraft from scratch which they intend to fly to Oshkosh 2006. The project is called AirISU and much more information can be obtained at www.airisu.org . They will be keeping us up to date on their progress.
