WHAT FLEW BY LAST MONTH !!!

Holiday cheer was in great abundance by all who attended the Chapter Christmas Dinner at Pine Lake in Eldora last month. EAA Chapters 675 and 1324 dined together with lots of aviating conversation and fellowship. The food was as expected, AWESOME! Cinnamon butter and chocolate truffles were on each dining table tempting everyone as they were seated, then after Roger Sutton welcomed everyone, chicken cordon bleu and roast beef were served buffet style, with lots of sides and salads (cinnamon butter was for the homemade rolls). When everyone had enough to eat, the winterberry cobbler dessert was served ala mode with your choice of peppermint or vanilla ice cream. This writer heard nothing but praise for the chef and, of course, there was no such thing as a diet!
We even had a program! Don Feld, a new chapter 675 member and former U2 pilot, gave an excellent presentation of his experiences while in the service. Don served for over 25 years in the Air Force and has been around the world many times. I should say, he has been OVER the world many times! He gave us a little information on the development and technical aspects of the U2 and then showed us some spectacular pictures (the unclassified ones) of the world from over 70,000 feet. The curvature of the earth is very evident and makes for a very interesting view out the window. Don mentioned that your eyes become accustomed to the distance above the earth and you can make out cars and people on the ground from altitude.
There was such a good response to the whole evening that we are considering it again for next year. PLAN TO BE THERE!
WHAT'S FLYIN' THIS WAY !!!
Our meeting on the 14th will be your opportunity to submit chapter activities for the coming year. Is there something new or different you would like to see? Or more of, that we have done in the past? Would you like to have more airplane building activities? More picnics? More ??? Don't let a few members take all the ideas and fun. The more heads we get together the better. Your input is greatly appreciated. Let's talk about it on Friday!

2004 IN REVIEW
Thank you, all the members of EAA of Chapter 675 for your support in the past year. We did OK for a small group. We've had special speakers, picnics with the family at the airport, attended fly-ins, flown young eagles ( and a few old eagles) and said goodbye at funerals to a few. You have kept up the good work on your projects in the garages and basements. Some of these will outgrow the home workshop and make a permanent home at the airport during 2005. Keep an eagle eye out for aviation related folks willing to be guest speakers. Keep up the good work and thanks for all that you have done.

HEY! Wanna Go?? Corey is planning on going to the Chili feed in Greenfield on the 29th. Anyone want to go with?
